Je suis surpris de ne pas avoir vu d'Anti-Nouma, pour un personnage si controversé. -
Il me semble que c'etait 10 pour les poteaux, je vais voir ca dans mes archives!
Sinon il faut noter qu'il a planté 6 buts en 2 matchs contre Montpellier! :)) -
Pour ce qui n'arrive pas à lire les vidéos sur le billet , il suffit en fait de cliqué droit , puis enregistré la cible sous!Nouma!

Me souviens que le jour de la présentation de la coupe de la Ligue ou de l'équipe en début de saison, j'hésite...) au stade de la Meinau, il avait débarqué sur la pelouse en VTT devant les regards hilards de ces coéquipiers et de la presse...

il allait souvent au café broglie avec Zitelli, en garant la Z3 n'importe comment juste devant, lunettes de soleil Armani sur le crâne ... quel flambeur :))

Il n'est peut être pas une légende, mais Pascal Nouma appartient à cette catégorie rare et précieuse de joueurs à la personnalité atypique. Retour sur la carrière tumultueuse d'un joueur auteur de 4 buts lors du Montpellier - RCS de 1997.

J'ai toujours fait partie des gens qui le défendais car oui, ce genre de mec me manque tellement dans le foot français et encore plus au racing, j'avoue avoir jamais compris ceux qui le "descendais" aussi facilement et régulierement à l'epoque (dont certains stubbers plus que connu isn't it, eh oui pour une fois je balance :D ) parce que ce mec, c'est un BON.
Même si il faut avouer qu'il m'a aussi un tout petit peu énervé de temps à autre, c'est surtout parce que j'en attendais des fois plus.
Que de bons souvenirs franchement de tout ces exploits sur le terrain et en-dehors, au premier rang desquels tout ces buts pour le racing mais aussi même si c'est pas sous notre maillot, je revois encore parfaitement dans ma tête l'image de la danse du canari, vraiment du Mythique ça.
Quand au coup de boule à Metz, que dire à part, bordel que ça avais fait du bien (pas très carton bleu tout ça je sais).
Bref Pascal, c'était de la bombe et te remercie de m'avoir refait penser à ce fou furieux et footballeur tellement atypique. -

C'est vrai que ce gars-là est le candidat le plus crédible au titre de George Best racingman. -
Nouma est incontestablement un des grands attaquants et un des bonhommes les plus attachants qu'on ai connu au Racing...L'article de Conan m'a fait connaitre certains points que j'ignorais et qui me le font rendre encore plus unique...

Bonjour, mon Français n'est pas grand ainsi j'écrirai en anglais. J'espère que ce n'est pas un problème.
I'm a die hard Besiktas fan and stumbled upon this Pascal article by chance. First of all, I'd like to congratulate Mr. Conan for this very thorough article. As a Besiktas fan, I can easily say that he covered Pascal's days in Istanbul very well.
Pascal's firstcoming to Besiktas in 2000 was more than impressive. He was a dominant force in the leauge and his spirit was unmatched. Nihat, now with Villareal, was playing as a right winger and Marcus Munch, ex-Bayern Munich player, was the left winger. Nevio Scala, ex-Parma coach, was the trainer. He was scoring at will but the more important thing was that he was relentlessly fighting for the team.
And yes, he was getting red cards and suspensions too but it was like Cantona or Gascoine. You knew the guy was gonna get unnecessary red cards and hurt the team but at the same time, he was playing too good to be ignored.
I personally attended a lot of games where we were down by one or two goals and we were able to get a win or draw just because he wouldn't give up. He was a true warrior for the team, really.
In the 2002-2003 season, we were about the celebrate our 100th anniversary as a team. (Besiktas is founded in 1903). And even though we, the fans, knew that Pascal did not play a lot the previous year because of health problems, we pressured the management to bring back Pascal for the spirit. Hundreds of supporters greeted him in the airport when he arrived.
He was really not like his old self because of his health issues but still he managed to score some critical goals such as the one in the UEFA cup against Dinamo Kiev. But still, more than anything, it was his spirit that the fans wanted.
When the season was coming to end, we were neck and neck with Galatasaray for the championship. In a crucial derby game against Fenerbahce where we beat them 2-0, he scored the second goal and made that unfortunate gesture. Knowing that making a big fuss about it would hurt Besiktas as a team and club, Galatasaray and Fenerbahce (our two biggest rivals) never let go of the situation. Our management was having some other problems as well, so finally they gave up and Pascal's contract was rescinded.
We managed to beat Galatasaray in the last home game of the season without Pascal, and became the champions. So, we lost Pascal but at least we did not lose the championship.
That incident only add to his reputation, however, and he became something like a symbol for the fans. Even today, when the players don't show enough enthusiasm, we have a chant that could be roughly translated as "Play like Pascal and we'll give our lives for you".
Also, there was one incident that should be told. In the first half of the season we were playing against Galatasaray on their pitch and won the game 1-0. After the game Pascal told that one of the Galatasaray players made racial remarks to him and called him "pis zenci" which means "dirty black/nigger". Racism is not really an issue in Turkish football but this created a big controversy.
So, in the next home game we, Besiktas supporters, created a banner which can be seen below that said "Hepimiz Zenciyiz" meaning that "We are all Blacks".
He was extremely emotional when he saw that banner and he always said in his later interviews that he'd always remember that moment as his favorite.

"In a game where I got a red card, I took it intentionally. Because the team wasn't trying hard enough and was lacking the spirit of the fans. I was losing myself. If I stayed on the pitch I could have killed one of my teammates for not trying hard enough"
"Yes, Galatasaray wanted to sign me a lot before my second coming to Besiktas. But I could not go to a club other than Besiktas. If I had done it, this song would end and I would have died. I didn't wanna die".
"When we won the cup, Besiktas fans presented me one of the most memorable days of my life. I fully understood Besiktas fans that day; they were dying to see a player that fought for their team. I like to fight for the team. That's why I became one of them."

(Obviously, this last one does not need translation but just for you know, this happened in the Leeds game when Danny Mills was taunting and shoving Marcus Munch from the beginning of the game. At one point that was enough for Pascal and he came and said this to Mills and eventually punched him in the face. Of course, he was banned for 3-4 games but that was Pascal. :) )
